Október-November

Óvodakert az élhető jövőért
Kindergarten Market Garden
for a Sustainable Future
Boldog község népi kultúrájához szervesen hozzátartoznak a kertészeti hagyományok is.
One of the strongest and longest living traditions of Boldog is the very developed horticultural tradition. Paprika (red pepper) cultivation is famous countrywide, but the local women traditionally kept a market garden, which provided fresh vegetables for the kitchen. Going around the village we can still often see rows of carrots, green peas, onions and different other vegetables, while the elderly often have poultry runs.
Munkatársaim tudatosan alkalmazzák a fenntarthatóság pedagógiáját, amikor a kertészeti hagyományok ápolásába bevonják a legfiatalabb generációt is.
My colleagues – in line with these strong agrarian traditions – pay special attention in their pedagogy to the sustainability, drawing in the youngest generation to the keeping of these horticultural traditions and values.
A jó kertész télen eteti a madarakat, hiszen nyáron a segítségünkre lehetnek a kártevők visszaszorításában. A tápanyagmennyiséget pedig a komposztládában előállított virágföld biztosítja. A helyi gazdaboltból vásároltuk a vetőmagot: borsó, retek, sárgarépa, zöldség, dughagyma. A helyi őstermelőktől kaptunk karalábé-, saláta-, zeller-, paradicsom-, paprikapalántát.
The own market garden of the kindergarten is based on the village market gardens between the kindergarten building and the playing yard. Our gardener – whom we employ within the frames of the „Road to Work” programme – prepares the soil, while the sowing of the seeds is done by the kindergarten teachers and the kids together in the spring. We are doing biogardening: instead of using chemicals and spraying we provide defense with careful planting: for example we plant carrots and onions next to each other, which deters both the carrot and the onion flies. As good gardeners we are feeding the birds in the wintertime, as those can be helpful in decimating the pests. The nutrient requirement is supplied by the soil of our own compost crates. Seeds – green pea, radish, carrot, turnip, onions – are bought by the local farmer's store, while the village farmers provide us with kohlrabi, lettuce, celery, tomato and bell pepper seedlings. Among the gifts are strawberry and raspberry plants and the kindergarten also has a number of walnut trees.
In the kindergarten of course not only the caring, watering and weeding of the plants provide engagements, but the children can also observe the diferent plants. The harvested goods are going straight into the kitchen: the kids can always ask for fresh vegetables for the meals, but they also made salads and the soups are often cooked with vegs straight out of the market garden. Our small gardeners can always have a bite of carrot in the autumn or winter.
A málna levelével a botsáskákat etetjük.
Our kindergarten provides not just carefree play and joy for the children, but also some tasks. In the autumn we collect nuts, the shells of which can also be used for different creative projects. The autumn leaves are excellent for making different pictures, the rest is raked and put into the compost crates. We're observing the work of the earth worms in a „worm farm”, which is placed in a glass. The leaves of the raspberries are given to the walking stick insects of the kindergarten.
Our kindergarten garden project helps children of different background to have equal opportunities in experiencing the agricultural work, the effects of weather on the plant growth, the importance of co-operation and the beauty of working together.
Jeles napjaink a fenntarthatóságra nevelést szolgálják, amelynek szervezésébe a szülőket is igyekszünk bevonni.
Our high days also help the education for sustainibility and we always try to draw in the parents in the organization.
1st of October is the day of the Fair of St. Michael day, which traditionally the date when the new children of the kindergarten are commenced „csicsergő” (or „chirpers”). The high day is also about bringing together the different society classes, environmental and economical systems. We are making a pumpkin and crop puppet exhibition and the gathered locals can dance the csűrdöngölő (Szekler verbunk dance). We are organising a baby fair, where everyone can bring in toys and clothes which can be freely taken away by the ones in need.
Our autumn environmental green day features a small festivity called „Compost Party”, in which the kindergarten children of three villages (Galgahévíz, Zsámbok, Boldog) get together. The festivity is kindly supported by Sándor Benke, the executive of the Selective Waste-recycling and Environmental Protection Ltd. of Tura. On 10th November the host was the Csemetekert Kindergarten of Galgahévíz. Our last year pre-schoolers took part in the festivities which included games with music, lots of movement and creativity – and the frame of the „Compost Party”, as always was recycling, composting and spreading the information about the autumn fruits and vegetables.
Ugyanakkor a társadalom minden rétegében szükség van a fenntarthatóságra nevelésre, ezért igyekszünk bevonni rendezvényeinkbe partnereinket, a szülőket, a civil szervezeteket, a helyi vállalkozókat. Mindezek hozzájárulnak az egész életen át tartó tanuláshoz is.
While the waste management of Boldog is currently not selective and the waste is carried 121 kms to the regional refuse dump pf Hejőpapi, but we are monitoring the means of the selective waste management in the neighboring region. In the 13 km vicinity of our village is Tura, where the kindergarten is already supplied with a selective waste management system – 47 % of the waste can be composted, 14 % recycled and only 39 % goes to the dump. The average waste per cent in the country which goes to the refuse dump is 79 %, while in Tura only 39 % - a very significant difference. Our kindergarten has a battery collecting point, compost crates, we collect paper and have an exhibition of recycled objects – we are very aware of the fact that the next generation has the burden of solving the waste management problems.
In our view the public education institutions can do the most for sustainable development and a better future with educating the children to environment-consciousness. Our teaching staff is looking forward to doing professional trainings in this area, during which they can enhance their knowledge, better their methods and pass the new methods on in local trainings – for example forest pedagogy or museum pedagogy. On the other hand, we do know that the educational work is needed in all segments of the society, so we are trying to get the parents, local entrepreneurs and NGOs involved in our projects – this is also helping the lifelong learning process.
Októberben az Állatok Világnapján ellátogattunk Jánosi Imre bácsi közeli lovas tanyára. Óvodapedagógusaink helyzeti adottságunkat is igyekeznek kihasználni, hiszen az óvoda szomszédjában Klári néni tyúkjait naponta megcsodálhatjuk, és megengedi, hogy néha megetessük kukoricával, vagy frissen tépkedett fűvel, gyommal, amit a kertünkből szedtünk. Talán a tyúk és a tojás esetére is könnyebben fény derül. A gyerekek kíváncsian fordulnak a természet világa felé, a mi feladatunk ezt a lelkesedést kihasználni, hogy rajta keresztül könnyen eljussanak a környezeti összefüggések megértéséhez.
In October, at the World Animal Day we paid a visit to Mr Imre Jánosi, the owner of the nearby horse farm. We try to make the best of our situation, so we regularly visit the poultry run in the neighborhood of the kindergarten, where the children can feed the chickens with corn, grass and weeds. Maybe the kids can find the answer to the ancient „Egg or Chicken” question? All kids are of curious nature and they wonder at the nature, our task is to encourage this curiosity because with observation the children get to know the nexus of nature.

Faluközösségünk örökségének egyik szép példája a Tájház. A gyerekek múzeumpedagógiai módszerekkel ismerkednek a múlt emlékeivel.
The village heritage is best displayed by the village community's tájház (Peasant House Museum) where the children can get acquainted with the relics of the pasts with the help of museum pedagogy. This year's grape harvest was a special experience to us where we could taste the freshly pressed must and dance ad sing afterwards in the yard.
Tájházunk gyűjteményének gazdagsága lehetőséget ad különböző foglalkozások megszervezésére, ezért az óvodások visszatérő látogatók. Itt megismerkedhetnek a régi mezőgazdasági eszközökkel és a feldolgozás eszközeivel. Mivel faluhelyen élünk, a gyerekek gyakran találkozhatnak mai modern mezőgazdasági gépekkel is.
The collection of our Peasant House is quite rich which means we have the opportunity to organise different activites, so the children at the kindergarten are frequent visitors there. In the building they get to know the old agricultural tools and the know-how of processing the goods. Given that we live in a largely agricultural village, the kids get to know the modern agricultural machines as well.

Moosehunting

In almost all of Sweden, we have moosehunting in autumn. In Sunne fall moosehunting season in October. Sunne is a small place whit a lot of agriculture and forest. Many of the children have a relative or familiar who hunts moose, so this is a tradition that our children know. Every autumn, when there are moose hunting we go together whit the older children in the group and see the butchered moose.
At preschool. we sing songs and play game called; Moose hunting.
The games goes as so; We have a large piece of cloth and a soft ball. The children say a number between 1-10 to determine how many mooose they want to shoot. When would also like to thank you for the paperdolls we got to preschool.
Best wishes from preshool Hea

The first mobility
Prima întîlnire
Az első látogatás

.

The 5th of October was the day when we finally met our project partners, after long preparations, an exciting exchange of letters and a curious expectancy. The warm welcome made our guests forget the long and tiring travel. The excitement of the meeting, the joy of making new friends filled the KIDA Center in Illyefalva with life.

2010 in comuna  Ilieni .

A meleg fogadtatás feledtette a hosszú, fárasztó út viszontagságait.

On the 6th of October our partners were invited to visit our kindergarten, meet the teachers and the children and to take part in the on-going activities.

During the afternoon meeting the partners presented their institutions, then we had an instructive professional discussion about everyday nursery work. At the end of the meeting we established the project’s next activities.

A beszélgetés a projekttel kapcsolatos közös teendők egyeztetésével zárult.

In the evening we attended the Háromszék Folk Dance Group’s beautiful performance

Gheorghe .

Este a szellemi fáradtságot oldotta a Háromszék Táncegyüttes  műsora, ami a népviselet, népzene és néptánc színes világába röpített.
The next day we went on a study tour. First we stopped at the Folk Art Museum in Csernáton, where we visited traditional folk houses and we told our guests about old-time village life, the customs and beliefs related to it. We made our next stop in the Kézdivásárhely Museum, where we saw an exhibition presenting traditional crafts, and also enjoyed the Zsuzsi and Andris dolls wearing folk costumes.

2010 október 7-én reggel tanulmányi útra indult a csapat. Az első megálló a csernátoni Haszmann Pál Múzeumnál volt, ahol a hagyományos parasztházak megtekintésével meséltünk a régi falusi életmódról, annak szokásairól, hiedelmeiről.

Friday, the 8th of October was full of events. In the morning we all presented our folk costumes and gave short performances of folk art. We danced and laughed together, enjoying the opportunity of being together.

Folclorul celor trei ţări s-a împletit într-o cunună a bucuriei , veseliei , dând naştere unei armonioase prietenii .

2010 október 8-án reggel zsibongott az óvoda, amikor székely és román népviseletbe öltöztek a gyerekek. A tornateremben hangoltak a Folker együttes zenészei. A boldogiak is magukra öltötték a gyönyörű viseletüket, a svéd Ana baba is népi ruhában „várta” a táncház kezdetét. Együtt táncoltunk, együtt nevettünk, s a végén fánkot is ettünk.

During the last evening we summarized the events and experiences of the three days spent together. We agreed that this first meeting was a succesful one and that we were all waiting to meet again.
